WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Vampire Facelift Vancouver
Vampire Facelift is one of the so-called gentle therapies that are carried out without surgical intervention. The main component of the treatment is the body’s own blood plasma, which promotes skin regeneration.
The Vampire Facial, also known as Microneedling with PRP is a skin rejuvenation method developed in the USA. In aesthetic medicine, the procedure is known under the technical terms PRP therapy and autohemotherapy. PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. The concentrate of thrombocytes (blood platelets), which is used in the anti-aging treatment, serves as a supplier of important messenger substances. These messengers support tissue regeneration.

In PRP Vampire Facial, only your own blood plasma is used. Therefore, a small amount of blood is first taken from the patient. The blood is then specially prepared by separating the platelets from the red and white blood cells. The platelet-rich plasma obtained is injected directly under the skin of the area to be treated using a fine needle. Similar to wound healing, the body’s own blood plasma signals to the body that new tissue is needed at the appropriate point. As a result, the skin structure is renewed and the appearance is thus rejuvenated. The PRP treatment is hardly painful, so experience has shown that no anesthesia is necessary. If desired, an anesthetic cream can be applied to sensitive areas.
What is microneedling?
Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, is a treatment effective in treating all manner of acne scarring and pitting, injury and surgical scars, skin discoloration, mild rosacea, fine lines, wrinkles, and stretch marks. Skin needling is a safe and controlled method of treatment and it can benefit all skin types.
Microneedling with PRP is a non-surgical procedure, the use of which helps in the treatment of aesthetic skin problems. A derma roller equipped with small needles or an electric dermapen is guided over the problem areas of the skin. When used correctly, tiny holes are created in the deep layers of the skin of the treated person, which allows applied care products to penetrate the skin better and maximize their effectiveness. Vampire Microneedling thus helps with numerous skin problems such as wrinkles, stretch marks, acne, scars or hair loss.
How does it work?
As the microneedling device stamps over your skin, it creates micro-point punctures in the skin, the majority of which are simply pushing your pores open temporarily. This is perceived by the body as damage, which stimulates the release of growth factors that trigger the production of collagen and elastin. Your skin reacts to any injury by initiating the healing process. You encourage your skin to continue healing through this micro-needling process.
Your skin normally assumes that scars, stretch marks and wrinkles are repaired, but with microneedling treatments, the skin is tricked into repairing itself. The process of micro-needling skin remodeling can go on for months after each microneedling treatment. Results can be seen within a week or even a few days. Your skin naturally heals itself every 45 days, so with a little microneedling stimulation changes can be dramatic and fast.
How is it performed?
Skin needling procedures are performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of sterile needle head. The procedure is normally completed within 30-60 minutes depending on the required treatment and anatomical site. Before the procedure starts a topical anaesthetic will be applied to your skin to ensure a comfortable experience. After the skin is numbed, the technician gently moves the microneedling device over your skin to puncture the epidermis layers of the skin and create miniscule sub-cutaneous injuries. These microscopic wounds stimulate new collagen deposition which may last for up to a year, yet they close within less than an hour.
When to avoid:
Contraindications and precautions include; keloid or raised scarring; history of eczema, psoriasis and other chronic conditions; history of actinic (solar) keratosis; history of Herpes Simplex infections; history of diabetes; presence of raised moles, warts or any raised lesions on targeted area. Absolute contraindications include; scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities; Rosacea and blood clotting problems; active bacterial or fungal infection; immuno-suppression; scars less than 6 months old; and facial fillers in the past 3 months.
How quickly are results visible?
Visible results of skin rejuvenation are generally seen after just 6-8 weeks following procedure and improve further over time. A series of Microneedling with PRP sessions is usually recommended to achieve optimum results; however skin improvement is noticeable after just one treatment.
How does the skin look after the treatment?
After the procedure your skin will be red and flushed in appearance similar to a mild sunburn. You will also experience tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatment and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. After 3 days there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place.
